I leave in less than 12 hours.

So jealous of all the CPs already down at Disney!

But there’s only 3 days until I leave for Chloe’s, 4 days until we leave on our epic road trip, 5 days until we get to Florida, and 7 days until we become official Disney Cast Members!

So to all those who have started their program already, I wish you the best of luck! Have lots of fun and I can’t wait to join you all at Disney World!

WHY HAVE I NEVER USED SPACE BAGS BEFORE, GUYS?

THESE ARE THE MOST AMAZING THINGS EVER. HOW HAVE I EVER PACKED WITHOUT THEM?

The sheer joy of seeing your possessions being squeezed down to a third of their size is reason enough to buy them.

And oh yeah, they save so much space.

I want to go to Target and BUY ALL THE SPACE BAGS.

Leaving my house in 9 days. Kind of freaking out, guys.

It’s finally sinking in that I’m going to be in Disney World for the next 7 months!

But I really wish it would have sunk in sooner so that I’d have more packed than just a single bag of clothes. Whoops.

Maybe I’ll go to Target tonight to buy some space bags to cut down on the amount of space my notoriously heavy packing will take up, since Chloe and I have to split one car with all our stuff. I also need to buy chips and dip for my farewell hang session with Abbey tomorrow. So Target it is!

Open note to DCPers RE: Facebook groups

So in the DCP tumblr tags recently I’ve been seeing a lot of hate/worry/complaints about the DCP Facebook groups and how bitchy some of the people there are.

And yes, it’s true. But there are bitchy people everywhere, and the DCP is not immune to that. To think otherwise is a bit naive. But I was totally part of that naive group of kids reading the Facebook groups’ posts with a look of horror on my face, thinking, “Oh god, I’m going to be spending 7 months with these people?”

But then you have to stop and think:

1. Not everyone in the program is on the Facebook groups, and not everyone in the Facebook groups is going to be doing the program. You’re going to get there and meet a huge group of people. If you’re one of the bitchy people, you’re probably going to make a bunch of bitchy friends, and you know what? That’s awesome because it leaves all the rest of the super nice, Disney-oriented people making friends with each other.
2. Facebook breeds drama. Everything being typed by these kids’ fingers comes out for the sole purpose of getting attention. We all do it: we want as many people as possible to “like” our statuses or comments, right? Well some people feel the need to get that attention through snide remarks, outrageous comments, or blatant lies. But honestly, you should just feel sad for them, because they have so little self-worth that they need to put other people down or post ridiculous things just to make themselves feel better. So instead of letting it bother you, just see it and realize that how people act on the internet is not always the greatest indicator of a person’s personality. And if they really are that petty in real life, then fuck ‘em. You get the satisfaction of knowing that you’re better than them. Moral superiority is where it’s at, yo.
3. If after reading all that, they’re still bothering you, then okay. It’s true. They suck. But are you really going to let a few FB attention whores give you doubts about taking this amazing opportunity? Are you going to let them ruin this life-changing experience for you? If the answer is yes, then maybe you aren’t ready to live and work at Disney for 4-8 months, and there’s no shame in that. But if you answered, “HELL NO,” then join me at Disney, my friends, because we’re going to have the best time of our lives.
